Before then, however, he worked as a theatre painter in Copenhagen after completing a craft painting course in 1941. Later, he worked as a teacher, and by all accounts inspired much of the arts and culture work that came out of Kalundborg. Srensen exhibited in several galleries in Denmark throughout his career.
