In the early 1990s he developed a style of painting unique among the potters of Mata Ortiz. He used the same long sweeping arcs and bands as his father, but within those bands he painted tiny checks and dots that give the designs a "computer board" look. Noe used to enjoy making fish frogs, owls and human effigy pots with his distinct painting emblazoned
